Friday the 13th = Holiday Cheer!

by Cassie on November 13, 2009

We spent the morning learning more about green building practices and how to share this information with our clients. There are so many exciting programs out there to help us update our homes and even get money back in return. Stay tuned and we will post about these programs in the upcoming weeks.

While downtown we grabbed lattes at Starbucks in Pioneer Courthouse Square and waited in the rain along with other Oregonians eager to get this Christmas season into gear. The square was full of the holiday spirit. There were carolers singing and cocoa for everyone.  A little after noon the Portland Motorcycle Police officers along with Santa (riding in a Prius), escorted the giant tree into the square. This year’s tree came from sustainable forest land outside of Gaston. Globe Lighting has been generous enough to donate LED lighting for the tree. These lights use 91% less energy than traditional lights and will last 50% longer. The official tree lighting will be Nov. 27th. treecassie kim pics 043
